Megaline Caravan II Docks at the Hub

One of the largest heavy transport vessels to call in Malta recently berthed at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub in Marsa. On 7 August, the South Korean TPI Megaline Caravan II – which has an LOA of 164 metres and a beam of 47 metres – chugged into port, carrying a selection of 40 metre-high energy utility modules and production modules. Berthing operations went very successfully and were coordinated by the Ablecare Oilfield Services Group (now MMH), which operates the Mediterranean Maritime Hub. Maritime Pilots, Transport Malta’s Port Operations team, Tug Malta Ltd, and Wilhelmsen Ship Services Malta Ltd, were all directly involved in the success of this operation.
